Biography

Emmanuel is first and foremost a Personal Support Worker with in-depth experience providing care to clients and patients across a range of settings, including hospitals, private residences, and long-term care homes. Born and raised in Benin Republic, Emmanuel developed a strong passion for caregiving at an early age. He completed the Personal Support Worker program at CLI College in Toronto and has worked at Hogarth Riverview Manor in Thunder Bay.

Over time, Emmanuel’s commitment to care has evolved beyond physical well-being to include safeguarding digital systems and information. After completing a cybersecurity program, he undertook extensive hands-on training through Capture The Flag (CTF) challenges and Hack The Box labs and earned his CompTIA Security+ certification. He has since obtained additional credentials in Security Operations Center (SOC) practices, IT Auditing and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), and Computational Thinking for Problem Solving.

Emmanuel’s passion for internet security is demonstrated through his resilience and performance in cybersecurity internships, his IT role with the Canadian Red Cross, and his current position as Head of IT and Full Stack Developer for the Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA) and the Canadian Support Worker Association (CANSWA).

Highly proactive and organized, Emmanuel is known for strong problem-solving abilities, rapid incident response, and effective use of Structured Query Language (SQL) to manage and organize databases. Outside of his professional work, he is a talented pianist and bassist who enjoys playing music in his free time. Emmanuel continues to take pride in his PSW roots as he grows and contributes in his role with the Ontario PSW Association.
